Baby Gates for Your Child

baby gates

Baby gates create a safe environment for your children.  Parents know that once your child starts to crawl they get into every little place they can find.  With baby gates you can block your child from going into unsafe areas so that you can be sure where your child is at all times.  Children are very curious once they start crawling and walking, so it is very important that every household has a baby gate to protect their child from any danger.  For example, without protection when your child sees an open door they could easily walk right out without anybody noticing.  However, if there had been protection, your child would not have been able to reach the door.  This product is the best for parents who work from home or are busy doing chores all day, because it gives them the chance to do their work without having the worry that their child is somewhere that he or she shouldn't be.

There are a few of factors you should take into consideration while looking for the right one.  Where is it going? What size is the opening? And what is it made of?

Where is it going?  If it is going to be placed at the top of a staircase you must use a hardware mounted baby gate.  You can be sure that your child will not be able to open or loosen it.  With hardware mounted, you screw it into your wall so that you can be sure it is very sturdy and your child will be safe and secure.  Never use a pressure mounted one at the top of a staircase, they are not sturdy enough.  If your child were to lean on it to look down the stairs there is a good chance that it would dislodge causing your child to fall down the stairs.  However, if you are using it to block an entrance to a room or to prevent your child from going up the stairs a pressure one is fine. Pressure mounted gates are also very easy to assemble and get in and out from.

What size is the opening?  Before selecting your gate you must measure the width and height of the area that you want to place it.  They all have specific dimensions that they will fit, so you want to be sure to select the gate that will fit your area securely.  Especially, with the hardware mounted because you want to make sure you bought the right size before you begin drilling holes in your walls.  However, if you can not find the right size we carry extension's that you can buy to make it fit your space perfectly.

What is it made of? While searching be sure to look at what it is made of.  For example, there are wood and metal ones.  This is basically just a matter of preference.  If you want it to match your house and you have all wood furniture than perhaps the wood one is the best for you.  But, if you have all white furniture than perhaps the white metal one is the best for you.  You want to be sure your child is safe but it never hurts to make sure your house still looks nice with a matching gate.
